The Florida Cow Culture Preservation Committee is a volunteer group of men and women brought together by our desire to preserve Florida’s Cow Culture and its Cow Hunter and Cracker Heritage.
The Florida Cow Culture Preservation Committee (FCCPC) was formed in 1993. Under the leadership of Chairman Doyle Conner, Jr, the committee planned and held The Great Florida Cattle Drive ’95 as part of Florida’s year-long celebration of the state’s 150th birthday.
Subsequent cattle drives were held in 2006 and 2016. The first Reunion Campout Ride was held in 2017 and will continue annually until the Great Florida Cattle Drive of 2022.
In addition to the cattle drives and reunion rides, the FCCPC works diligently to celebrate the unique role cattle has played in Florida’s history and educate people around the world about Florida’s rich heritage as a cattle state.
Ours is a diverse and inclusive group of folks from all different backgrounds. We come from every county in the state and represent all walks of life. Ranchers, farmers, working cowboys, educators, historians, professionals, blue collar workers, youngsters, retirees, students, land and wildlife managers and law enforcement – we all have a role to play in this endeavor.
